Through patience a ruler can be persuaded,
and a gentle tongue can break a bone (Proverbs 25:15, NIV).
This is not one of those proverbs you are going to find printed on a coffee mug in your local gift shop. But maybe it should be. Lest I fall into the very trap this verse reveals, I will leave on that thought.
