A thought to ponder

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love… Love each other as I have loved you (John 15:9 and 13, NIV).

Jesus learned how to love from His Father. Jesus loved people with a love like no one had experienced in another person before. That one Person’s love has changed the entire world. He gave that same love to his disciples with the intention of having them share that same love with others. The awesome truth contained in these verses is that Jesus wants to enable you to love in the same way He loves people. When we experience the love of Jesus we become freed from shallow and selfish counterfeits of love, to authentically love others with the love with which He loves us.
