If you are looking for grace, remember that…

Once my wife is off to work and my girls have all gone to school (or purgatory as they think of it), I get my morning coffee and listen to God speak. If I have been learning anything, it is that I need the grace and truth that is in His Book. Of course the Book itself does not have the grace I need. But it tells me about the Person who does (John 1:14), that He has promised it, procured it, and applies it (Romans 6:23). It tells me that there is nothing I need to do to earn it or be worthy of it (Romans 5:8), because this Person is willing and able to give it freely and liberally to anyone who comes to Him and asks for it (1 John 1:9). It tells me I am loved no matter what (John 17:23). That I am loved just as I am, and loved too much to leave me as I am… or where I am (2 Corinthians 3:18); that one day, I will be brought Home to be with Him as a treasured son (Luke 15:22-24). I don’t know about you, but I need that. I need to hear that on a daily basis.
