How true that is. Becoming a Christian did not make all my problems go away. Becoming a pastor did not make any of my problems go away either. And when one of them finally does get taken care of, another one comes to take its place. But, while being a Christian doesn’t make your problems go away, and doesn’t make you immune to getting new or even worse problems, it does give you a real and palpable peace even in the midst of the most irascible and insane problems. No problem you have can change your position in Christ. No problem you have can change the Father’s love for you. No problem you have can ever end up keeping you from Him or keep Him from giving you all you need. Even death isn’t a problem for Jesus… He’s bigger than death. What Jesus said to His disciples, is no less true for you: I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world (John 16:33, NIV).
