One of my favorite books on Leadership is Lead Like Jesus by Ken Blanchard and Phil Hodges. In their book, they argue that before we can lead we need to address our ego. Ego, they say, stands for Edge God Out. We edge God out in three ways:
As our object of worship.
As our source of self-worth.
As our audience and judge.
When we altar (yes that is spelled they way they meant it) our ego by giving our heart to Jesus, ego then changes to Exalt God Only as our object of worship, the source of our self-worth, and as our audience of One.
