Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose(Philippians 2:12-13).
When the Holy Sp
irit is at work in your heart, He is going to open your eyes to the beauty of God.
When you see the heart of God, you see a heart full of love. You see a God who has a passion and delight for justice, righteousness, and truth. You see a God who is fully devoted to all that He does; and everything He does is done with a commitment to life, goodness, and maximum joy. He is fearless. He is trustworthy.
He is The Creator. Every star and galaxy, every planet, every living thing down to the last subatomic particle, is the work of His hand and bears His mark. Nothing is left undone or unfinished but is completed with perfect excellence.
While this God is creator, warrior, judge, and completely committed to His cause, He is also gracious and merciful. He loves to be gracious. He stands up for the oppressed and the weak. He is a father to the fatherless and a defender of widows. Whomever He blesses cannot be cursed. Whomever He forgives cannot be condemned. Whomever He saves cannot be lost.
Is that not a Person who is worthy of your love, admiration, and respect? The longer His Sprit is in your heart, the more you will see who God is, and you will be more and more attracted to Him, and the more you will come to taste and see that the Lord is good.
Prayer
Father, You are so beautiful to me. Thank you for giving me a new heart that sees and praises You for Your love, goodness, grace, compassion, and righteousness. I love Your holiness! Work in me so that what I love about You is also true about me.
