Welcome!

Thank you for visiting my blog, “Learning to be Full of Grace and Truth.” The title is an expression of two truths. The first truth is from my mentor and spiritual father, Charlie “Tremendous” Jones who went home to be with the Lord in 2008. He taught me that whenever he heard someone say “you know what I’ve learned,” he knew they hadn’t learned much, because whenever we think we’ve learned something, we soon find out that we end up needing to learn it all over again. So never say “I’ve learned,” say “I am learning.”

The second part comes from the Gospel of John 1:14 (NIV), The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. Here John is saying that the reason he and the other apostles recognized Jesus as the Son of God was because He shared His Father’s glory—being full of grace and truth. Paul says in 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV) And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. Being transformed into Christ’s likeness means that we are being transformed in such a way as we too shine with His glory; that we are to be full of grace and truth.

The posts in this blog all speak to this theme, learning to be full of grace and truth, and reflect my journey as I travel down this path with Christ until He calls me home. It is my hope that in sharing what I have been learning, that you would be encouraged, challenged, and built up in your own walk with Christ, wherever you might be on that road.

  2. Hey Dan,
I just read “God’s Foreknowledge and Free Will”. Very encouraging reminder, in your very uplifting blog. I am glad that you use foreknowledge as evidence of control, rather than equating the two. As such, it is a great comfort to the Christian.
