Pray About Everything

Nothing can keep your prayers from being heard by God. Psalm 9:10 says, “Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O LORD, do not abandon those who search for you.” God is always listening to our prayers. He always hears us. That gives us great confidence. Not only are we always in God’s grasp, but God is always within our reach. He is never far off. Sometimes we feel that way. Sometimes we feel that God is nowhere to be found. But we need to know that this is not the case.

Just because fog might keep me from seeing the trees outside my window, I know that they are still there. Just because the clouds hide the sun, even for days at a time, I know the sun is still there. We never need to worry that our prayers will fail to be heard. We never need to worry that our cries for help will not reach His courts. He is completely trustworthy. God never abandons those who search for Him. Nothing can stop God from hearing or answering our prayers and helping us in our times of need. He will always prove faithful because He is sovereign.

  1. Question for you – what do you do with Psalm 66:18, which says If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me? or with 1 Peter 3:7, which tells husbands to be considerate of our wives and treat them with respect so that our prayer lives won’t be hindered?

    1. I think the answers to those prayer problems come from not listening to God speak in prayer or through His Word. The only way to confess that and deal with those problems is by listening, obeying, and confession which all come about by prayer.

  2. Amen to that! God answers all prayers, though not on the time-line WE would always like so we perceive our prayers as not being heard. But, because God loves us, sometimes the answer is no or maybe not yet. Heck, look how long Abraham had to wait for children! 🙂

  3. Surely does! As a matter of fact, I had been praying that God would open up opportunity for me to go see my mom in Kentucky. Well, He decided that we would get to go after all and that it would be THIS weekend! Aaaaaand it is only a 32* high and a low tonight of 19*!! Nope, I am NOT complaining one little bit, just showing that our Father has a great sense of humor as well!! Heeheheheehe! 🙂 🙂

Anyhoo, have a great weekend and if this gal who lives on the face of the sun (phoenix) doesn’t freeze to death I’ll check in when I get back to see all the good posts I missed!! 🙂 🙂

    1. I will miss you! It’s gonna get down to 19 here tonight. Not happy about it. But God has worked hard to make me happy here, giving me a fireplace, a smoking room, and an indoor hot tub to distract me from the winter cold.

We will have none of those amenities at mom’s in Kentucky I am afraid but will settle for a good jecuzzi tub in the hotel room!! 🙂
