Jesus Prayed

I enjoyed waking up to this devotional in my inbox. I recommend signing up for the Lead Like Jesus devotional. I find them wise and thought provoking. Here was today’s.

It is somewhat remarkable to realize that Jesus Himself, being God, prayed. He consciously made time to spend with the Father, not doing life based on His own understanding, but cultivating and maintaining a close connection with the Father. Prayer was His ongoing practice, one that uniquely impressed His disciples. How is your prayer life? What might Jesus want to teach you about prayer?

One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”—Luke 11:1

Prayer: Jesus, teach us to pray. Open our hearts to hear what You have to say to us, and give us the needed humility to learn from You. Tune our ears to listen more than we speak. Let Your praise be at home on our lips, and thanksgiving and confident trust in who You are shape our perspective and requests. In Your name, let us pray, amen.

  1. Don,

Back in the days when I was a webmaster, I was taught to never, ever include a link that did not open in a new page (now tab). Depending on which method you use within WordPress to create the link, you should check the box to do that. OR, add the following to your link under the HTML tab: here. Unfortunately, I can’t highlight the addition which is: target= “_blank”. By including this command, when you click on the link it will open in a new window or tab and your page will still be visable to the reader.
