As I was preparing my sermon for last Sunday I came across these quotes from Martin Luther in Draper’s book of Quotations. Luther was not only a great theologian, he was a great husband and father as well. His wife and kids loved him very much. The first two are for your profit. The third is for your pleasure (you know it’s so true)!
Let the wife make her husband glad to come home and let him make her sorry to see him leave.
The Christian is supposed to love his neighbor, and since his wife is his nearest neighbor, she should be his deepest love.
Think of all the squabbles Adam and Eve must have had in the course of their nine hundred years. Eve would say, “You ate the apple,” and Adam would retort, “You gave it to me.”
